Apresentação:
O treinamento com oclusão vascular tem sido amplamente investigado nos últimos anos. Os resultados das pesquisas têm mostrado que o treinamento com baixas cargas associado à oclusão vascular apresenta eficiência no aumento de força e hipertrofia muscular em níveis semelhantes aos observados no treinamento resistido com altas cargas.
Mais recentemente, o método tem sido aplicado em pesquisas envolvendo idosos e indivíduos hipertensos e os resultados são interessantes, tanto na melhora de variáveis funcionais, como em parâmetros hemodinâmicos.
Os equipamentos mais utilizados nos estudos e que envolvem o método, bem como na clínica, são os manguitos infláveis com manômetro acoplado para mensuração da pressão de oclusão. Até pouco tempo, não havia equipamentos fabricados no Brasil, o que elevava o custo de aquisição.
